Soul Snack: Taming the Inner Kaiju
Soul Snack: Taming the Inner Kaiju
We have all been there. The Wi-Fi drops, the emails are piling up, the project file gets corrupted, and suddenly, you can feel yourself transforming.
Hangry Monster Hank knows this feeling better than anyone. As a literal Kaiju working in a high-stress IT department, his patience has a very strict limit. But Hank’s secret to not destroying the city when the servers crash? He knows exactly when it’s time to unplug, walk away from the glowing screens, and pray it becomes lunch break soon, where he heads straight to Table 5 at Happy Happy Pizza.
When we are running on empty—physically, mentally, or spiritually—our inner "hangry monster" tends to come out. We snap at people, we stress over the little things, and we try to force our way through problems instead of stepping back to refuel.
It brings to mind a great reminder about where our true replenishment comes from:
"For He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things." — Psalm 107:9
You cannot troubleshoot a broken system on an empty stomach, and you cannot pour into your work or your family from an empty soul. If you feel the monster starting to roar today, do not try to fight through the frustration. Step away from the desk. Close the laptop. Take a walk or grab a slice of pizza, but more importantly, don't forget to pray.
Let yourself be filled with good things today so you don't tear down the city tomorrow.
Stay grounded.
